Dr. Emile de Rijk

CEO and board member

Emile is a passionate physicist and entrepreneur in the field of Additive Manufacturing and Radio Frequency applications. He co-founded SWISSto12 and serves as its CEO. Emile contributed to the technological inventions behind the company’s products and has helped the company in its growth from an early stage startup to a successfully growing business with international clients and partners.

Emile obtained a PhD in Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), in Lausanne (Switzerland) after obtaining his MSc in Physics at the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and his his BSc in Physics at EPFL.

Jean-Marie Jacquet


Jean-Marie joined SWISSto12 in 2017 as its COO with a focus on boosting the company’s operational and industrial production capacity. Jean-Marie has a background in R&D, production and site management. His experience comes from the surface treatment industry applied to automobile and electronics applications. Prior to joining SWISSto12, Jean-Marie held different positions in site management and R&D for Oerlikon, Sulzer, Bekaert and Philips.

Jean-Marie holds an MSc in Materials Science from the Université Catholique de Louvain, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

Luca Cirafici


Luca joins SWISSto12 to support the financial organization development and expand the investors’ portfolio. Luca is a senior executive with finance and operations experience gained in start-ups and global organizations in a variety of sectors (Givaudan, Novartis, Novimmune, Rohm & Haas, Medtronic, KeyLemon).

Luca holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and an MBA in new technologies and innovation management from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne (Switzerland).


Roland Loos


Roland Loos started his career at the Swiss PTT satellite department as satellite project manager. In 2004 he was one of the 3 co-founders of NewSat Communications and was instrumental in the development of the company from a start-up to a well respected satellite communications provider to major oil and gas companies. From 2006 on, he created and ran whole owned subsidiaries of NewSat in most major oil-producing countries in Africa. In 2013 he lead the due diligence process and successful merger of NewSat with ITC global. He became the COO and president of the combined ITC structure and was responsible for the overall development and operations of ITC global's world-class network infrastructure. He also oversaw the company's Swiss based legal entity and travelled extensively to manage the international affiliates around the world. In 2015 he was part of the team that managed the very successful sale of ITC global to Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC).

Following this latest transaction, he has now left ITC global to develop new activities around the world and support young companies in their development.

Philipp Thurn und Taxis

Board member

Philipp is Founder and Managing Director at Constantia New Business (CNB), lead investor at Swissto12. CNB invests hands-on in young, dynamic, innovative companies across Europe. It takes equity stakes with a long-term perspective to value creation.

Before CNB, Philipp gained many years of international experience as consultant, manager and entrepreneur in the software and telecommunications industries. Amongst others, he served as Executive Board member at Efkon and as VP Corporate Development at SAP. Philipp holds a Master of Law from the University of Vienna and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School.
